2019 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Museum open Sundays and Wednesdays 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. June 23rd  through September 22nd

APRIL

Sunday, April 28th  SPRING HIKE Monson Turnpike through Quabbin Park (Enfield). Meet at east entrance to Quabbin Park for 11:00 a.m. departure.

MAY

Sunday,May 19th  SPRING HIKE to Rabbit Run.  Meet at Gate 35 for 11:00 a.m. departure.

Sunday, May 26th  MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE  commemorating veterans from the four towns at the Quabbin Park Cemetery.  Refreshments served at 10:00 a.m.   Step-off March and Ceremonies at 11:00 a.m.  Interpretive program at 2:00 p.m. with Nancy Huntington.

JUNE

Sundays, June 2nd,  9th,  16th, 23rd and  30th QUILTS OF OLD.  Located in the Prescott Church on the grounds of SRVHS from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. each Sunday.  Suggested donation of $10.00.

Sunday, June 23rd   MUSEUM OPENING DAY

Sunday, June 23rd New Salem/Dana/Baffle Dam BUS PILGRIMMAGE.  Meet at SRVHS, 40 Elm Street, New Salem  for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Fee of $30.00 per reservation.

JULY

July 8-12th  WATER PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN – please call Emma Ayres at 413-992-7936 for information and cost.

Saturday, July 20th   OLD HOME DAY – New Salem Common from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Free

Saturday, July 20th  COOLEYVILLE HISTORIC WALK with Don Flye at 9:00 a.m.  Meet behind the New Salem Town Hall.

Sunday, July 21st  DANA REUNION – Dana Common    Gates open at 10:00 a.m.  Free

Sunday, July 28th  DANA VESPERS – Prescott Church  – on the grounds of SRVHS at 3:30 p.m.  Cake and lemonade served after the concert.  Free

AUGUST

Sunday, August 18th  BIRDS OF PREY with Tom Ricardi     – on the grounds of SRVHS at 3:00 p.m. Suggested donation of $5.00.   Children free.

SEPTEMBER

September 13th – 29th SRVHS will be featured  in the Gilbert Farmhouse at Storrowton Village Museum on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) in West Springfield, MA.

Saturday, September 14th  ANNUAL MEMBER MEETING  on the grounds of SRVHS at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 22nd   FALL HIKE to Atkinson Hollow.  Meet at field (Cooleyville Crossing) at Gate 17 road for 11:00 a.m. departure.  *Note*  This hike, inside the gate on the Prescott Peninsula, requires that all participants enter and leave at the same time, as it is a fenced off area with locked gate.  Participants cannot be allowed to leave early.

Sunday, September 22rd  MUSEUM CLOSING DAY

OCTOBER

Sunday, October 6th  PRESCOTT/ENFIELD PILGRIMMAGE BUS TRIP.    Meet at SRVHS, 40 Elm Street, New Salem for 11:00 a.m. departure.  Fee of $30.00 per reservation.

Sunday, October 20th  FALL HIKE from  Packardsville to the shore of the Quabbin.   Meet at Gate 8 for 11:00 a.m. departure.

GENERAL INFORMATION for HIKES and BUS TRIPS:  Bring a lunch and prepare for insects/ticksFollow all DCR rules.  Light showers do not cancel a hike.  Suggested donation for hikes $5.00.  Bus Trips run rain or shine!  Reservations ($30.00 each) for Bus Trips must be made and paid in advance by calling  978-544-6882 or by email to dotfryesrvhs@gmail.com
